Fulfilled by our friends at 2nd Story Goods
The Product:
The Harvest Apron is our apron design that was months in the making. The cross straps make it simple to pull over the head and fit comfortably on most body sizes. It simply adjusts itself. This apron has pockets with generous space and is perfect for filling with tools, kitchen utensils, paintbrushes, or fruit from the garden. “Gather” your tools to make something new or gather your ingredients so you can gather your people around the table!

The Story:
We began sewing in the early days of 2nd Story Goods, way back in 2011. Today, our in-house sewing group is made up of 2 men and 4 women. Most of our fabric is bought and up-cycled from the surplus in the local market. If you ever find yourself at our homebase in Gonaives, joyful singing and laughter can often be heard in conjunction with the hum of the sewing machines. It is one of our very favorite sounds!
Josias is our local screen-printer who makes our word patches. His method involves taking the design and transferring it to his DYI screen using emulsion and a few long minutes exposed to the Caribbean sunshine. We are amazed at his tenacity and creative capabilities!

About the Partner & Their Impact:
Our Impact Partner, 2nd Story Goods understands how it feels to want to buy things that are good for the people who made them, the planet, and you. This is why they have been working on the ground with their artisans in Gonaives, Haiti for 10 years, creating recycled, handcrafted goods for a livable wage. Last year, their impact enabled over 108 children to stay in school, not because of hand-outs, but through the dignity of their parents’ work with 2nd Story Goods.
